Step up case study - Disability (DARE) - Building confidence through creativity made possible by Step Up
Focus on people who have a disability, are aged 16 years or over and are unemployed or economically inactive. The stories highlight the impact of support provided to enhance opportunities to gain qualifications and progress into work or stay in work.
“I was needing a routine and like to learn new things. Step up helped to keep my mental health in many ways in a good way, especially anxiety. I also have a general passion for art.”
Challenges and barriers the participant faced were helped overcome with Step Up help as they stated:
“I struggled with anxiety and trauma and just going in social environments helped to overcome initial fears. I have learned a lot about nails that I would never of learned, its shown there are opportunities where you can be as creative and free with your vision”
