Step Up Case Study – WRAP – Empowered return. Guidance placement and progression!
WRAP – Women Returners Access Programme – Further Education Provision
Focus on unemployed or economically women. The case studies show the positive impact which the support provides for women in building confidence, refreshing skills, gaining qualifications and work experience and to create progression pathways to further and higher education and/or employment.
The participant enrolled on the programme to rebuild confidence after losing employment, and to gain new skills and experience.
They required support in developing transferable skills, confidence, and workplace readiness. The key worker provided consistent encouragement and structured guidance.
The main barrier was reduced confidence following job loss. However, the participant quickly engaged with the programme and demonstrated strong commitment.
They excelled in their work placement, successfully completing assessments and receiving highly positive feedback. They reported:
“I feel really proud of how far I’ve come and what I’ve achieved.”
The Key worker has stated:
“The participant showed exceptional engagement and made significant progress in confidence and skills development.”
As a result, the participant has improved their employability, confidence, and overall outlook. They now plan to pursue further opportunities in employment, building on the progress made during the programme.
