The participant joined Step Into Childcare programme to work towards 3 units of the L3 CACHE Supporting & Teaching qualification.

She struggled in school with (dyspraxia and dyscalculia) and had previously studied with SWC on a L2 Childcare Course, failed to achieve her ES Numeracy and struggled with her placement.

Since joining the Step Into Childcare, the Participant  has successfully achieved her L2 Numeracy, a pre-requisite to continuing to complete the L3 CACHE qualification and she is continuing to complete the qualification due to complete May 2026.

The participant secured a placement with a local school and attends three days per week and has settled in really well.  She has also secured a part time job in her local village shop. She plans to complete her qualification in Summer 2026 and become a qualified full time classroom assistant in her local school.

    Participant said

“Since studying the Cache Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, my confidence has grown both in the classroom and when working with the children in my placement. I have developed friendships with my classmates, and my Tutor has been a great support, helping me understand new topics and always willing to help. I have really enjoyed this course and look forward to working as a classroom assistant in the future”
