Step Up case study - overcoming health barriers
Step Up case studies allows readers to hear from people who have been supported by the Step Up funded projects.
This participant suffered from poor health and learning difficulties and always felt “behind” in school and had feelings of “always being more stupid” than their friends.
With the support received on the Step Up programme this student was able to achieve in all areas of the programme, then progressed onto two essential skills programmes in the community and has engaged with the careers team which helped him apply for a range of different programmes starting in September 2024.
