  • Step Up care experienced bursary - funding a university dream

    Topics:
    • Employment and skills programmes (including apprenticeships),
    • Step Up case studies

The focus is on providing financial support for people in higher education who are care experienced. The case studies show the positive effect this financial assistance has had on allowing recipients to continue with their study.

    Participant's story

    The participant said:

“I really wanted to make something of myself and wanted to be the only person in my birth family to go to university and have a good career.

"Without it (the bursary) I would not have been able to fully pay my tuition fees. It has made my life so much easier and reduced my stress and money worries when it came to tuition fees.”
