Step Up Case Study - WRAP –– Overcame dyspraxia/dyscalculia and earlier numeracy/placement struggles
Focus on unemployed or economically women. The case studies show the positive impact which the support provides for women in building confidence, refreshing skills, gaining qualifications and work experience and to create progression pathways to further and higher education and/or employment.
The participant joined Step Into Childcare programme to work towards 3 units of the L3 CACHE Supporting & Teaching qualification.
She struggled in school with (dyspraxia and dyscalculia) and had previously studied with SWC on a L2 Childcare Course, failed to achieve her ES Numeracy and struggled with her placement.
Since joining the Step Into Childcare, the Participant has successfully achieved her L2 Numeracy, a pre-requisite to continuing to complete the L3 CACHE qualification and she is continuing to complete the qualification due to complete May 2026.
The participant secured a placement with a local school and attends three days per week and has settled in really well. She has also secured a part time job in her local village shop. She plans to complete her qualification in Summer 2026 and become a qualified full time classroom assistant in her local school.
