WRAP – Women Returners Access Programme – working towards an OCN Level 3 Award in Holistic Health & Complementary Approaches
WRAP – Women Returners Access Programme – Further Education Provision - From feeling alone behind closed doors to finding friendship, purpose, and the courage to learn again - now working towards an OCN Level 3 Award in Holistic Health & Complementary Approaches.
Focus on unemployed or economically women. The case studies show the positive impact which the support provides for women in building confidence, refreshing skills, gaining qualifications and work experience and to create progression pathways to further and higher education and/or employment.
The participant joined the Programme after being referred by her support worker. She found it difficult to make new friends and living alone, was dealing with some social isolation.
She is a naturally creative person and enjoyed the idea of getting to try out some artistic and creatives crafts through the programme. She attends the craft class weekly and loves making things from scrap fabrics and particularly making décor pieces which she can add to her new home.
She has also always had an interest in holistic health, since some of her family are holistic practitioners. She joined the programme’s Holistic Health & Wellbeing classes primarily to support her own mental health but found that she has a great knowledge of the subject and has since gone on to commence study for an OCN Level 3 Award in Holistic Health & Complementary Approaches. Returning to formal study has been a huge achievement for N and has really boosted her confidence in her own abilities.

“I love coming into the college for classes each week. It has really given me a new focus and a reason to get out of the house. I love meeting up with the other ladies and really enjoy learning new craft techniques each week. I hope to continue to try new things and am looking forward to achieving my qualification in Holistic Health.”
