    Green Accelerator Skills Programme Courses & Training  (GRASP)

    The GRASP project offers approximately 50 funded Green Skills programmes aligned to the specific needs of the Construction Sector. These comprehensive training programmes include areas such as Domestic Retrofit, Passive House Design, Air Source Heat Pump Installation & Maintenance, Photovoltaic Systems Management and Digital Construction Technology. This will result in more than 1,800 accredited completions and 2,000 construction workers upskilled in Green technologies & methodologies.

    Invest Northern Ireland

    Invest NI is the regional business development agency, whose role is to grow the local economy by helping new and existing businesses to compete internationally, and by attracting new investment to Northern Ireland. 

    A wide range of support is available to business in NI, including the emerging green economy.

    • Net zero and the green economy

    Invest NI can support your business to cut energy use and reduce carbon emissions, helping to contribute to local and national government net zero energy by 2050 target. With expert advice and financial support, they can help you can lower costs, improve efficiency, and find new opportunities in the growing green economy.

    • Reduce waste and save energy 

    There is also support to help your business reduce waste and save energy. Tailored advice, support and funding can help your business save money, improve day‑to‑day operations, and reduce your environmental impact.

    • Resource Matching Service 

    Available to Invest NI clients, the Resource Matching Service provides the opportunity to transfer business waste, unwanted materials and bi-products from one business or organisation to be reused, recycled, reprocessed and repackaged by another.

    • Technical Consultancy Support 

    Offered by Invest NI, Technical Consultancy Support can help identify how your business can save energy, reduce waste and optimise the use of raw materials. It is open to any business in Northern Ireland that has an annual energy and resource spend in excess of £30,000.

    • Energy Efficiency Capital Grant 

    The Energy Efficiency Capital Grant (EECG) provides grant funding to help Northern Ireland businesses reduce energy costs and build resilience through green efficiency.

    The scheme offers support to buy and install energy-efficient equipment that reduces energy and carbon emissions.

    • Resource Efficiency Capital Grant 

    The grant provides support to eligible Invest NI clients to help with the cost of investing in resource efficient technologies that will drive savings and business productivity.

    Invest NI Client Companies can benefit from grants of up to £50k available to help with the purchasing of new equipment.

    Available to Invest NI clients, the programme offers financial support for SME groups to collaborate and exploit opportunities for competitiveness.

    City and Growth Deals are tailored funding agreements between the UK Government, the Northern Ireland Executive, and local authorities, designed to unlock investment, support job creation, and accelerate inclusive economic growth.

    Construction Industry Training Board NI (CITB NI)

    CITB’s role is to provide a range of services to the industry which incorporates identifying training needs, encouraging and advising on training, provision of training grants, research, standards & qualifications, and policy development.

    It helps people employed or intending to be employed in construction get the training they need, improve skills and productivity across the industry, and build a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce in Northern Irelands construction industry.
