European Social Fund (ESF) case studies 2021

ESF case studies provide readers with the opportunity to hear from people who have been supported by ESF funded projects.  The participants explain how the training and support they received has helped them to overcome their own personal barriers and enabled them to enhance and extend their employment opportunities.

The case studies fall into four categories:

Unemployed and Economically Inactive

These case studies focus on people who were out of work or unavailable for work.  Projects which receive ESF funding in this category aim to enhance and extend access to employment for people who are unemployed or economically inactive.

Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)

These case studies focus on people aged 16 to 24 who are not in any form of education, employment or training.  Projects funded in this category aim to support the integration of these young people into the labour market.

Individuals with a Disability

These case studies focus on people with disabilities who are out of work or are unavailable for work. The ESF funded projects provide support to those with a diverse range of disabilities and aim to help participants overcome barriers to employment.

Community Family Support Programme (CFSP)

These case studies focus on families receiving Community Family Support and have a member who is aged 16 or over and who is not in education, employment or training (NEET). The ESF funded projects support these people as they make life changing decisions to improve their everyday lives.
