    The OREAP aims to enable the deployment of offshore energy in NI’s marine area from 2030. While ensuring that offshore renewable energy is situated in the most sustainable and cost-effective locations, and that they are connected in the most efficient ways that are feasible to deliver self-sufficiency in affordable renewable energy.

    The Department and key stakeholders continue to work collaboratively towards delivery of the actions as outlined within the OREAP. The OREAP is a living document, and the action plan will be updated as policy development progresses and new evidence becomes available.
