Geothermal Demonstrator Project

The GeoEnergy NI geothermal demonstrator project comprised of two geothermal exploratory and feasibility studies at two locations, with the aim of helping us ‘unearth the heat beneath our feet’.
Phase 1 of the project has now been completed with the drilling and exploration of boreholes at Stormont in Belfast and the successful application for a deep geothermal system at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Greenmount Campus near Antrim.
