    The Department for the Economy (DfE) and the Utility Regulator (UR) launched a joint Call for Evidence for a review of electricity connections charging policy in Northern Ireland.

    Call for evidence

    The consultation closed on 6 October 2023 and DfE and UR are currently considering any policy developments which may emerge from stakeholder responses.

    Stakeholder information event

    The department and the Utility Regulator hosted an online stakeholder information event on Wednesday 23 August.

    The purpose of this event was to present the main themes of the call for evidence that was published in July and invite questions from stakeholders.

    Stakeholder responses

    The Department for the Economy and the Utility Regulator have published the non-confidential responses to the Call for Evidence on connections charging policy in NI, and a brief summary of the major issues raised by stakeholders.

    DfE and UR are reviewing the responses with a view to publishing policy options coming from the Call for Evidence.
