Thirty seven training providers have been appointed to deliver the ApprenticeshipsNI programme. The programme offers apprenticeship training across a wide range of industry sectors and occupations. There are many benefits from employing an apprentice including helping apprentices develop the specialist skills that businesses need to help keep pace with latest technology and working practices. Many employers have reported that by employing apprentices they have realised a growth and improvement in productivity in their businesses, coupled with a real sense of contributing to the skills need of the Northern Ireland economy.

Employers interested in taking on an apprentice can find further information in the Employers Guide to Apprenticeships available on the Department for the Economy website at www.economy-ni.gov.uk/apprenticeships-employers-guide

Thirty training providers have been appointed to deliver the Training for Success programme. This training programme helps young people gain skills and the recognised qualifications needed to progress in their chosen career. The two year programme is designed for young people aged 16-17 who are not in full time education or employment, with extended eligibility up to 22 years for those with a disability, and up to 24 years for those who qualify under the Children (Leaving Care) Act (NI) (2002).

Further Information about the Apprenticeships and Training for Success programmes is available on the NI Direct website at www.nidirect.gov.uk/campaigns/skills-succeed or by telephoning 0300 200 7876.
