The Department for the Economy has launched a competition to appoint eight new members to the Board of Northern Ireland Screen.
NI Screen is the lead agency for the screen industries in Northern Ireland. Its role is to maximise the economic, cultural and educational value of the screen industries for the benefit of Northern Ireland. The new members will provide a critical leadership role, bringing their skills, knowledge and lived experiences to Board discussions and decisions.
The Department wishes to appeal to people of all ages from a wide range of backgrounds and experience. The Department would particularly welcome applications from people with a disability and those from ethnic minority communities as they are currently under-represented on the Board. Applicants with a disability who meet or exceed the pass-mark set for the criteria will be offered an interview. Their application will not be subjected to short-listing.
No academic qualifications are required for the posts. Applicants are required to submit evidence of competency against at least one of the essential criteria for the specialist genre applied for. Applicants are also required to demonstrate the essential skills of constructive and supportive challenge and building and maintaining working relationships.
It is anticipated that four Board members will be appointed in December 2024 and a further four members will be appointed in July 2025. The terms of appointment will be for three to five years. These posts are not remunerated, however all reasonable travel and subsistence costs, and any dependant-carer expenses incurred whilst undertaking board duties, will be reimbursed where applicable.
Further information and application packs can be obtained on the Department’s website.
The closing date for applications is 12noon on Friday 4 October 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
