The Department for the Economy (DfE) commissioned AECOM to research and assess the suitability of buildings in Northern Ireland for heat pump installation.
The study comprised a review of literature and data sources and considers different aspects of heat pump retrofit installations, different heat pump types, heat sources, and building characteristics such age, type, fabric and insulation levels. The report’s findings will help to inform heat policy to support the transition to net-zero by 2050.
