Skills for a 10x Economy - 1st Annual Monitoring Report

The Department for Economy has published the first Annual Report of the Skills Strategy, ‘Skills for a 10x Economy’. The Report which was endorsed by the Northern Ireland Skills Council provides an overview of the progress that has been made since the Strategy was launched in March 2022, including the publication of the 14-19 Framework, the formation of a Green Energy Skills Industry Reference Group, and the continued success of the Skill Up programme with over 6,500 learners having commenced a course between April 2022 up until latest figures at the end of January 2023.

The report also includes an Implementation Plan which sets out the programme of work to deliver on the strategic goals by 2030. Key areas of work over the lifetime of the Strategy will include the development of a Lifelong Learning Action Plan, a renewed approach to management and leadership, a review of vocational education provision, and the development of a new Careers and Skills Portal.  The Implementation Plan will be refreshed on an annual basis to deliver an evolving programme of work in response to economic and labour market needs.
