Removing the barriers to learning: exploring adult perceptions and attitudes to participation in further education

This research report sets out findings from a series of surveys with adults on perceptions and attitudes to learning in Further Education (FE), including information on barriers to entry; reasons for participation; benefits of participating in non-vocational courses; as well as reasons for adults dropping out of FE. The work was commissioned as part of the Department's Research Agenda.
