This work identifies key elements of the small economy experience and policy approach, with particular emphasis on those features that are shared by successful small advanced economies. It provides a sense of the underlying motivation for economic policy choices that various small country governments have made. It also describes current policy debates across selected small country governments, and how small country governments are responding to emerging challenges and opportunities.
Research has been carried out by David Skilling, Landfall Strategy Group, to identify best practice policy approaches in economic strategies adopted by small advanced economies. This research has been used to inform the development of the draft Industrial Strategy.
