    Creating a globally competitive economy represents the overall ambition within the draft Industrial Strategy. Achieving this objective requires an understanding of Northern Ireland’s competitive strengths and areas where further improvement is needed. This research has been carried out by DfE Analytical Services and has informed the development of the draft Industrial Strategy. Please note the findings outlined in this report will differ from those in the draft Industrial Strategy due to figures having been updated since.

    This research outlines Northern Ireland’s economic competitiveness across a wide range of indicators against relevant small advanced economies such as Denmark, Finland, Republic of Ireland and New Zealand.
