Barney McGahan

Barney McGahan is a retired civil servant, latterly as deputy secretary at the then Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure. He has also acted as interim chief executive at the Northern Ireland Policing Board and since his retirement has engaged in data protection consultancy and training. In addition, Barney was a publically appointed governor for five years at St Mary’s University College, Belfast, which included a period as chair of the college’s audit committee and is a past governor and chairman of Armagh College of Further and Higher Education.

Tony Montgomery

A retired civil servant, he has extensive experience in engaging with a wide range of external organisations in the public, private, voluntary, and community sectors in NI. His last five years in the NICS saw him play an instrumental role in the delivery of the Steps 2 Success employment programme.

Maeve Hamilton and Graeme Wilkinson

Both are civil servants and members of the current DfE senior management team, Maeve Hamilton (Director of European Fund Management) and Graeme Wilkinson (Director of Skills Strategy and Policy).
