    Background

The consultation document has been developed following an extensive period of engagement with stakeholders from across Northern Ireland.

It sets out proposals which will set the strategic direction for the development of a flexible skills system for the next decade, in line with the department’s economic vision. It outlines key themes and proposed commitments, with an overarching focus on creating a skills framework which can drive economic prosperity and tackle social inequality. The department is keen to have your views on how we meet the challenge of building a world class skills system.

The department will also be hosting remote engagement events during the consultation period - details will be published on our website and advertised through our social media channels.
