    Consultation description

Provided that the other required permissions are obtained, the Mineral Prospecting Licence will permit the company to explore for base metals. The applicant currently holds a mineral prospecting licence over the same area. The current licence is known as OM1/16.

This new licence is not related to the exploration of gold or silver which are outside the remit of the Department for the Economy. Flintridge Resources Limited are permitted to explore for gold under Options granted by the Crown Estate.

More general information relating to mineral prospecting can be found at minerals and petroleum publications.
