Review of Post School Provision for Special Educational Needs Learners

The Department for the Economy has been reviewing the skills and training provision for school leavers with special educational needs (SEN), and the relevant legislative protections, to provide recommendations for improvements.
Background
The Programme for Government 2024-2027 priority ‘To better Support for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs’ sets out that we will ensure that we are developing the learning opportunities and skillsets of our young people in line with Northern Ireland’s economic objectives and ambitions, ensuring clear pathways of opportunity for further training, education or employment at post 16 and post 19.
