    Date published: 29 July 2021

This paper, carried out by Retail Economics on behalf of the Department for the Economy, sets out the considerations for the introduction of a stimulus scheme whereby every person in Northern Ireland aged 18 and over will be eligible to apply for a pre-paid voucher card worth £100 to spend in their local high street.

This research provides context in terms of the challenges and opportunities facing the retail industry and why the introduction of a high street scheme in Northern Ireland could act as an important stimulus to the consumer sector, concluding with key findings and recommendations on the timing of the scheme launch.
