Productivity, innovation and competitiveness in small open economies

The PICSOE project is a research study commissioned by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) in 2009 to investigate approaches and strategies for advancing productivity, innovation and competitiveness in the three leading small open economies of Singapore, New Zealand, and the Republic of Ireland so as to draw insights for Northern Ireland.

An overview report, which outlines key findings from this programme of work, is available. The final report is supported by three technical reports which provide further detail on productivity, innovation and competitiveness in the three economies.

Research seminar

A Research Seminar was held on 30 June 2011 with relevant economic stakeholders to help disseminate the findings of the research. A copy of the presentation given is available to download below.
