    The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) is an international project which aimed to provide information on the entrepreneurial landscape of 51 countries in 2024. This is an important piece of research, as many studies have shown that entrepreneurship is an important driver of economic growth, competitiveness and job creation.

    The results of the GEM data analysis are used as key entrepreneurial benchmarking indicators by regional and national authorities around the world. In 2024 the Department for the Economy and Invest NI sponsored the Northern Ireland component of the GEM UK research project.
