    The factsheets show the number of enrolments within each Essential Skills subject, while the bulletins provide further detail into the characteristics of those enrolling and performance statistics for the Essential Skills programme, since the start of the strategy in 2002. 

    There has been a change to some of the figures contained within the ‘Essential Skills Enrolments and Outcomes in Northern Ireland from 2002/03 up to 2013/14’ bulletin, published on the DEL website on 11 December 2014:

    1. due to a technical error, some performance rates have been revised upwards: the total retention figure has increased from 88.1% to 88.7% and the total success rate has increased from 62.1% to 62.5% ‘unknown’ column in Table 14 now sums to 31
