Cross Border Movements: The movement of people across the Northern Ireland - Republic of Ireland border

This paper provides further analysis and information on people movements across the Northern Ireland (NI) - Republic of Ireland (ROI) border by NI and ROI residents.
It reports the results from DfE commissioned research undertaken by Citi Logik, which used anonymised information from a Mobile Network Operator (MNO) to consider the extent of the aggregate movements of people across the NI-ROI border. The paper provides analysis of total border crossings, the origin and destination of cross border movements, and the purpose and frequency of cross border travel. The results of this new and original analysis support the previously published data by DfE (in March 2018) on people cross border movements.
