Welcoming the company, the Minister said:

"Northern Ireland has long had a reputation for its skilled people and it is this core strength that continues to attract new investors to locate here.

“This reputation has been bolstered further by the positive response existing global investors experienced in Northern Ireland during COVID. Many of our existing investors have cited the resilience and adaptability of their Northern Ireland teams as instrumental to their business’ response and continuity following COVID.

“It was our skilled workforce that initially attracted EverQuote to Northern Ireland, and the adaptability of our people that convinced them this was the right location for the new development centre. Combined with the support of Invest NI, I am pleased we have been able to secure this latest investment and the 70 new jobs it will create. These new jobs will deliver over £3.7million into the NI economy through salaries.”

EverQuote operates a leading online insurance marketplace, connecting consumers with insurance providers. The company's mission is to empower insurance shoppers to better protect life's most important assets — their family, property, and future. It is striving to be the largest source of insurance policies in the world, using data and technology to make insurance simpler, more affordable and personalised, ultimately reducing cost and risk.

The company is setting up a 70 person software development centre and has already recruited 12 people, all working from home. The new jobs will attract high level salaries.

Tomas Revesz, Chief Architect and co-founder said:

“We started considering locations for the new development centre in early 2020 and were recommended to consider Northern Ireland. The combination of talent, capability and the strong cluster of InsurTech companies that we found when we visited Northern Ireland really impressed us.

“As a company, we also place significant importance on providing meaningful skill and career development opportunities for our people. We were keen to ensure we had the ability to work with local universities to create a team that has a blend of both experience and new talent. The calibre of the two universities, and the graduates they are producing made Northern Ireland very attractive to us as well.

“The government’s partnership with the business community here, through advice, guidance and financial support, is very reassuring as a new investor. The support of the team at Invest NI has most definitely made this decision easier to make, and easier to implement.”

Joining the Minister in welcoming the company, Kevin Holland, CEO, Invest Northern Ireland said:

“EverQuote is expanding its product development team here to support its growth and expansion business strategy into new insurance areas such as health, rental and direct-to-consumer markets. The new software development team in Northern Ireland will drive engineering and software excellence to support its US operations.”

Invest NI has offered the company £420,000 to support the investment.

EverQuote currently employs around 425 staff across its offices in Massachusetts and Washington State.
