Industrial Tribunals decide legal disputes concerning a wide range of employment rights matters. The Fair Employment Tribunal similarly decides legal disputes about discrimination on grounds of religious belief or political opinion.

Non-legal members play an active and key role in the tribunal process in using their practical knowledge and expertise in employment relations matters to assist the tribunal in reaching its decision.

This is an open competition which involves an application form and interview.

To ensure the appointments reflect the full range of employment across Northern Ireland, the Department welcomes applications from representatives from all types of industry and employment, regardless of the size of enterprise in which an individual has worked.

No academic qualifications are required for the posts. Appointments will be made on merit from those applicants who best satisfy the criteria detailed in the Candidate Information Booklets.

The Department is currently operating the Guaranteed Interview Scheme in this competition for applicants with a disability.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 12:00noon on Friday 24 May 2024.
