The Assured Skills Academy, which will see participants receive industry-relevant pre-employment training with Belfast Met from 11 October to 15 December 2021, is open to applications from people with a degree in any discipline, or a level 5 qualification in an ICT or STEM related subject.

Participants who successfully complete the training will be guaranteed an interview for a role at KPMG’s Belfast Centre of Excellence.

Encouraging eligible individuals to apply the Minister said:

“Following the announcement back in February that KPMG is creating 200 new jobs, with the potential to fill 160 of those through Assured Skills Academies, I am very pleased to announce that this is now the fourth Assured Skills Academy with the company.

“With no experience needed, this Assured Skills Academy with KPMG, focussing on the cutting edge area of cyber security, is a wonderful opportunity to join a multinational company with an expanding presence in Northern Ireland and I would urge anyone who is interested and eligible to apply.”

Johnny Hanna, Partner in Charge of KPMG in Northern Ireland, commented:

“After the success of our first Cyber Academy and our ongoing commitment to expanding the Northern Ireland team, KPMG are delighted to again offer ambitious graduates in any discipline the opportunity to join the team and to develop a professional career in the field of Cyber Security.

“This opportunity will be challenging but equally rewarding to those who have the aptitude to solve complex business issues and a desire to become the future digital leaders in an exciting field.”

The Assured Skills Academy will provide training in areas including Cisco Networking Essentials, MTA Security Fundamentals, EC Council Ethical Hacking, AZ 900, AZ 500 and EC Council Cyber Forensics

Participants will also receive £155 per week training allowance.

Damian Duffy, Director of Development at Belfast Met, said:

“Belfast Met is delighted to be supporting this Cyber Security Academy as part of KPMG’s ongoing efforts to build their Centre of Excellence in Belfast. The College continues to lead in the development and delivery of bespoke programmes which support the growth of digital consulting in our region which is critical to our future economic strategy.

“This is the fourth Assured Skills Academy to be delivered by Belfast Met with KPMG and DfE this year, and we look forward to welcoming and supporting our new cohort of learners on their pathway to career success.”

Applications for the KPMG Cyber Security Assured Skills Academy are open now and close at noon on 3 September.
