Speaking about the Academy, Ann Williamson, Head of Employer Skills at the Department for the Economy, said:

“This Assured Skills Academy, delivered in conjunction with North West Regional College and Ulster University, is an excellent opportunity for 20 graduates to gain real world learning and experience in the financial services sector. Those participants who successfully complete the Academy will have a guaranteed interview for a full-time position with FinTrU.

“Assured Skills Academies help ensure there are people with the right skills available to businesses, enabling them to provide quality employment and career opportunities while supporting economic growth. This year more than 1,300 jobs have been promoted through Assured Skills Academies and we are continuing to work with businesses, Further Education colleges and universities to deliver further Academies across a range of sectors.”

Leah McStravick, FinTrU Academy Manager, said:

“We are delighted to be running a second FinTrU Assured Skills North West Academy in Derry~Londonderry. The first Academy earlier this year proved very popular with local graduates. It is important to us to tap into the wealth of local talent that exists in the wider North West area and it is for this reason that we stipulate that applicants need no previous experience in the financial services sector.

“We are also pleased to again link up with North West Regional College and Ulster University. The six week course will equip participants with the real world skills they need to start and pursue a career with FinTrU, and we are looking forward to welcoming the next cohort of successful applicants as they begin their journey with us.”

The FinTrU Assured Skills North West Academy II will be delivered by North West Regional College in conjunction with Ulster University. Nicola Curry, Business Development Manager at NWRC, said:
