Successful applicants to the Academy will receive five weeks of industry-relevant pre-employment training from North West Regional College to prepare them for a role in insurance software. Participants on the Academy will be closely assessed by Alchemy and those who successfully complete the course will be offered a role in the company as either a Technical Analyst or Business Analyst.

Highlighting the opportunity, the Minister said:

“This is an exciting opportunity for people to gain the skills needed to start a career in insurance software.

“Alchemy Technology Services is a successful and expanding locally-owned company and this Academy will position participants strongly for a Technical or Business Analyst role at the firm. I encourage anyone who is interested and eligible to apply.”

John Harkin, CEO of Alchemy Technology Services, said:

“We are delighted to be opening our seventh Assured Skills Academy for applications. Our previous Academies have been very successful and we have seen our people thrive in their roles. The team have cemented Alchemy’s place as a key player in the insurance software industry.

“We have developed a leading rewards package for our people, offering competitive international salaries while providing locally-based career development and opportunities for travel. At Alchemy we are committed to the continued growth of our people through ongoing investment to ensure they are trained and certified to the highest levels in our field of expertise.”

Sinead Hawkins, Business Skills Manager at North West Regional College, said:

“We are delighted to be delivering this Academy in partnership with Alchemy and fully funded by the Department for the Economy. Alchemy continues to show their commitment to the north west region in providing high quality jobs. They have also shown great resilience and support to the online delivery of this programme. This a fantastic opportunity with a forward-thinking company which will kick-start individual careers”

The Academy covers training that could lead to potential career paths either as a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst. Applicants to the Academy interested in the Technical Analyst role must have a BSc from a third level institution (e.g. BSc in Computer Science or equivalent) or a Level 5 qualification in an IT-related discipline. The minimum level of education required for the Business Analyst is a degree in Business/Finance with technology included. European language skills are desirable for both roles.

Applications to the Academy are open now and will close at noon on 10 May 2021. Training will run from 14 June to 20 July.
