Minister - note of thanks to staff

This is a crisis the like of which we have never seen before. Its impact on all our lives is massive. The situation changes by the hour and I am very aware of the challenges this presents to every one of you.

I want to thank each of you for your continued efforts to deliver for the people of Northern Ireland.

I know staff across the department are working long, anti-social hours – either from home or the office – to maintain services and provide help to our vulnerable communities.

This is done in the face of huge disruption to family lives and against a backdrop of mounting concerns over the impact of Covid-19.

Your work is hugely appreciated by me, by your colleagues, by the business community and by the wider public who rely on us.

Please remember your own health and well-being, take time out to recharge your batteries and follow the Public Health Agency advice on hand washing and social distancing.

The challenges will increase over the coming weeks but my message to you is simple:

Thank you for all that you do and stay safe and look after yourselves and your families
