On 19 February 2024, the Minister for the Department of the Economy revealed a new Economic Vision for Northern Ireland. A clear mission has been set, with objectives for Good Jobs, regional balance, raising productivity, and reducing carbon emissions.
There is a need for research to form an evidence-base to influence and shape policy decisions. Therefore, over the next three years we will undertake a wide range of research and analysis that will help achieve this new Economic Vision.
A new Research Programme has been developed by DfE and was published in July 2024. Projects to be taken forward under this programme includes research on employee ownership, entrepreneurship and NI minimum wage:
