Prosper 4, is a project organised by Womens Centre Derry which aims to reduce unemployment by assisting those furthest from the labour market to overcome their barriers to accessing and sustaining employment. The project also works to combat economic inactivity by helping individuals to make the transition towards the labour market.

This project is part funded through the Northern Ireland European Social Fund Programme 2014-2020 and the Department for the Economy.

Here, some participants share their thoughts on taking part in the Prosper 4 project.

    Participant 1

“I just completed Level 1 Beginners Hair Upstyling and my child was looked after in the creche, and absolutely loved it. Now the Women’s Centre has given me the opportunity to complete Level 2.

"This will give me the opportunity to explore jobs within the hair/beauty industry, which I am really passionate about. I look forward to coming every week and seeing my new friends and tutor. I am grateful for all the support at Womens Centre Derry.”

    Participant 2

“I am now studying my Level 2 Hairdressing. Thank you for giving me the push to do it.”
