Measuring exports
In support of the Economic Strategy focus on ‘rebalancing the economy’ and the underpinning theme of ‘competing in a global economy’, the DETI Research Agenda 2012 – 2015 identified a research project focused on measurement of the export performance of the local economy.
The key objectives of the project were to identify what export activity taking place was not currently captured and how this could be addressed, and to consider options for publishing regular estimates of the overall level of exports from the NI economy.
