The Innovation Language research, conducted by Innovation Lab (now part of Innovation Consultancy Services), is a behaviourally informed study, positioned within the context of Northern Ireland, focusing on engagement with two specific user groups; micro businesses and SMEs (businesses) and innovation support providers (providers). The primary objective was to explore and compare the two user groups perceptions and understanding of innovation, and to identify and investigate any gaps and barriers that may exist between innovation support providers and the businesses who access it.
The report presents a detailed analysis of the behavioural science methodology, research findings, recommendations and a rationale for the recommendations provided. The report also translates the recommendations into examples of interventions to demonstrate what they might look like in practice.
