On 10 November 2021, the Department for the Economy published a notice that it intended to make an Order revoking the recognition of the Law Society of Northern Ireland and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants as Recognised Professional Bodies (RPB) at the request of the bodies. This Order was made but has subsequently been revoked, at the request of the Law Society. Consequently, The Law Society and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants remain recognised by the department for the purposes of authorising persons to act as Insolvency Practitioners.
