Economy Minister Conor Murphy is encouraging all those who are eligible to apply for the second Risk and Regulatory Compliance Assured Skills Academy with EY.

Funded by the Department for the Economy, the Risk and Regulatory Compliance Academy is a six-week intensive training programme designed to deliver industry focused training to equip participants with the transferable skills to help them better compete for job vacancies. All participants who successfully complete this academy will be guaranteed an interview with EY on conclusion of the training, which will be a blend of onsite and online learning delivered by Belfast Metropolitan College. 

Applications for the Risk and Regulatory Compliance Academy with EY are open now and will close at noon on Monday 25 March 2024.

Encouraging eligible individuals to apply, the Minister said: “I am pleased to note that following the recent commencement of training for the first Risk and Regulatory Compliance Academy, EY are providing another excellent opportunity for individuals who meet the eligibility criterion. One of the pillars of my economic vision is the creation of good jobs. I am committed to building the local skills base as a key part of that vision and Assured Skills Academies have a proven track record of success in this area. This Academy, funded by my Department, will provide the skills needed for participants to start an exciting career in the world of risk and compliance.

“Successful applicants to the Academy will receive £175 per week training allowance, travel expenses and assistance towards childcare costs where applicable. Those participants who successfully complete the academy will be guaranteed a job interview with EY. I would encourage anyone who is eligible and interested to apply for this exciting opportunity.”

An information session for successful applicants will be held on Monday 8 April 2024, with the opportunity to meet representatives from the Department for the Economy, EY and training provider.

The selection process will entail completion of an interview and an online assessment which will be held between Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 April 2024.

Training will commence on Monday 29 April and finish on Friday 7 June 2024. Applicants must be available to attend full time, in person for the duration of the training period. Successful academy participants will be guaranteed a job interview with EY Northern Ireland on completion of the training.

Experience is not required but you must:

  • be at least 18 or over
  • hold an honours degree in any subject
  • be eligible to work in the UK
  • have appropriate IT access to link to the online tuition.
